What is Mobot?

Mobot is a robot character that represents humans living in the fast-paced, high-pressure environments of modern cities. Inspired by the artist Namo, based in Bangkok, Thailand, Mobot reflects the struggles of those trying to survive and thrive in a world dominated by capitalism.

In this world, slowing down is not an option. You’re expected to run the race, keep up with the speed of others, and achieve success or at the very least, survival. People are pressured to work without mistakes while maintaining peak productivity at all times.

In the “City of Rain,” where Mobots live, each robot must carry an umbrella to protect themselves from the rain. If their metal bodies are exposed to moisture, they begin to rust and break down. Despite their efforts, the umbrellas can’t fully shield them from the dampness. This forces the Mobots to work endlessly, saving up money to buy new parts just to stay alive. But not all Mobots can afford it. The wealthy control everything, while the lower-class Mobots are trapped in a cycle of working until they can no longer function.

Some Mobots, however, break free not by dismantling the system, but by understanding the rain, nature, and the truth of life.

“When Mobots change their perspective,

They find beauty nature inside.”

Mobot represents the beginning of Windom Studio’s journey, which led to the NatureTalk Project an exploration of the delicate balance between:

  • Urban life and Nature

  • Capitalism and Simplicity

  • Art and Functionality

  • Spirit and Work

Through Mobot, we invite you to reflect on the pressures of modern life and rediscover the harmony that comes with embracing imperfection and nature’s truths.
